早在今年八月，市值500万美元的红山矿业公司收购了曼斯布里奇山(Mt Mansbridge)稀土项目，最近该公司又收购了同样位于西澳大利亚的科克比山(Mt Kokeby)高纯氧化铝项目。
昨日，红山矿业公司宣布，曼斯布里奇山稀土项目的全面调研已完成，随着收购阶段的推进，项目将会取得进一步的进展。
红山董事长杰里米·金(Jeremy King)说：“就曼斯布里奇山而言，我们认为最有趣的一个方面是，迄今为止的研究已确定了曼斯布里奇山有氙气的存在。”
氙气是一种稀土元素（REE）矿物，含有重稀土元素，镝。
金说：“据我们所知，北方矿业(Northern MineralsASX:NTU)的布朗山脉项目是西澳大利亚的唯一一家镝生产商，也是全球为数不多的镝生产商之一。”
In August, $5 million market cap Red Mountain inked a deal to potentially buy the Mt Mansbridge rare earths project and then more recently, the Mt Kokeby kaolin/high purity alumina (HPA) project; both in WA.
Yesterday Red Mountain Mining (ASX:RMX) told investors that comprehensive due diligence on the Mt Mansbridge rare earths project was completed and, subject to things like shareholder approval, the explorer expected to proceed with the acquisition.
Red Mountain chairman Jeremy King says: “As far as Mt Mansbridge is concerned, one of the aspects we view as most interesting is that the work to date has identified the presence of xenotime,” he says.
Xenotime is a rare earth element (REE) mineral which hosts the heavy REE, dysprosium.
“As far as we are aware, Northern Minerals’(ASX:NTU) Browns Range is the only producer of dysprosium in WA and one of a few globally.”King says.
